How do I add a 1771-ASB adapter module to my SLC 1747-SN scanner remote I/O network?
Enter the correct rack number, rack size, and starting group in the SLC500 program I/O configuration G-file data screen. With the correct communication rate set on the scanner, download the program to the SLC processor and switch to Run mode. Communication to the adapter will commence.
How do I add a 1771-ASB adapter module to my ControlLogix Remote I/O network?
Simply add the adapter under the 1756-DHRIO scanner in the Logix5550 Controller Organizer I/O configuration tree. With the scanner, adapter, and chassis switches set correctly, download the program to the Logix5550 processor and switch to Run mode. Communication to the adapter will commence.
The Allen Bradley 1771-ASB reads and or writes data in parallel, but also gives room for serial communication. The module supports either 2-slot, 1-slot, or ½ -slot I/O addressing. This remote I/O module occupies the left-most slot in the 1771 I/O chassis and supports the 32, 16, 12, 8, or 4-slot Input Output chassis. All the modules in the 1771 I/O chassis where the 1771-ASB is installed should be controlled by a processor from the PLC-5 family. The 1771-ASB draws a current of 1 A at 5 Volts DC from the backplane and has a maximum power rating of 5.2 Watts.
