1756-M02AE is a two-axis servo module optimized for controlling drives/actuators that require ±10V speed or torque reference input. This module has two (2) axes for drives and actuators that require +/- 10VDC as a speed and torque reference. This module has an integrated limit switch input, drive fault input, drive enable output, 5V or 24V position record input, and 250 µs position and speed loop update. 1756M02AE provides quadrature position feedback output and is compatible with various quadrature output rotary and linear sensors.

The 1756-M02AE analog encoder servo module has a 5-volt differential optically isolated input and a 531-ohm differential input impedance. The minimum and maximum on-state voltages of 1756-M02AE at 24 volts are 18.5 volts DC and 26.4 volts DC, respectively, while at 5 volts, the maximum and minimum on-state voltages of 1756-M02AE are 5.5 volts DC. And 3.7 volts direct current. When the DC voltage of 1756-M02AE is 24 volts and 5 volts, its maximum off-state voltage is 3.5 volts and 1.5 volts, and the input impedance is 9.5 Kohm and 1.2 Kohm respectively. 1756-M02AE has an analog voltage servo output with a voltage resolution of 16 bits and a voltage range of +/- 10 volts. In addition, the maximum offset of the servo output is 25 mV, and the output gain error is +/- 4%.

Install or Remove the Removable Terminal Block onto the Module

Before installing the RTB, make certain:

The Field-side wiring of the RTB has been completed.

The RTB housing is snapped in place on the RTB.

The RTB housing is closed.

the locking tab at the top of the module is unlocked.

Installation Requirements

Before you install your module, you should:

1. Install and ground a 1756 chassis and power supply.

2. Order and receive an RTB or IFM, and it's components, for your application.

Check Status Indicators

The module uses a single bi-colored light-emitting diode to indicate module OKstatus and bi-colored light-emitting diode indicators to showindividual feedback (FDBK) and drive (DRIVE) status for both axes.

During power-up, the module completes an indicator test. The OK indicator turns red for 1 second and then turns to flash green if the modulepasses all its self-tests.
