Allen-Bradley 1756-HSC Specifications

The 1756-HSC comes from the class of special input/output modules in the 1756 ControlLogix Systems series. It is manufactured by Allen-Bradley and it provides high-speed counting capabilities to the controllers for industrial applications. This high-speed counting module works on two different voltage levels depending upon the output counter voltage levels required for the connected devices. For a given 5 Volts DC input, it provides counting signals in the range of 4.5 to 5.5 Volts DC whereas for 12 or 24 volts DC input signals, it can provide 10 to 26.4 Volts DC counting signals. The 1756-HSC can acquire its input pulse signal from a variety of devices. Generally, the pulse is fed through counters, pulse generators, and limit switches. The output of the counter can either be a count or it could activate any onboard devices for a given period of time.

This module has built-in Counter and Frequency modes. The selected mode determines the manner in how the pulse will be counted and stored including output behavior. Configuration tags such as module Data, Module diagnostics are created when this module is initialized in the programming software’s hardware configuration. Depending on the firmware revision, Programming Software may vary from RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 Logix Designer.
