Description
The 1771-DXPS module is very sensitive to ESD or Electrostatic Discharge. Semiconductors or integrated circuits can be damaged by an ESD. The Allen Bradley 1771-DXPS is a control coprocessor in the 1771 control coprocessor family. The 1771-DXPS is located in the 1771 Input Output chassis where it is directly connected to a PLC-5 controller which can be programmed. It can also be installed remotely and standalone. It accommodates an expander module with a 7-bit reception plus an even parity. For communication, the 1771-DXPS has a 25-pin COMM2 & COMM3, and 9-pin COMM1 ports. Additionally, it supports communication through the Ethernet port which has a communication rate of 10Mbps. The communication ports for this control coprocessor are optically isolated. The 1771-DXPS supports serial communication which is comparable with the RS-232C, RS-423, RS-485, and RS-422A standards.
