The Allen-Bradley 1746-HS is the IMC 110 Motion Control System. The 1746-HS is a single-axis closed loop servo positioning module that works with the SLC 500 programmable controller and uses a single slot. It is the key component in systems using motors, encoders, and servo drives. The 1746-HS provides for a powerful motion control system that is affordable and efficient. The programming tools for the 1746- HS include MML (Motion Management Language) and GML (Graphical Motion Control Language), providing robust configuration and debugging for your project. It is much more efficient at controlling speed and position than mechanical methods and monitors an encoder for feedback.
The 1746-HS has an SLC 500 interface, a termination panel interface, 4 fast I/O points, and a 10V DC signal. It provides high accuracy and system response with a servo loop closure rate of 5ms. The fast I/O points save throughput time. The 10V signal provides an interface for most servo drives. The 1746-HS requires power from the backplane of the SLC controller in the form of 5V DC and 24V DC. The unit draws .36mA of 5V current and 0mA of 24V current. Always make sure the power supply is off before changing or disconnecting components.
