The Schneider Electric TSXAEY414 is a high-resolution 4-channel analog input module designed for the Modicon Premium automation platform. It processes low-level voltage, current, thermocouple, and resistance signals across industrial monitoring and process control systems. Featuring 16-bit analog-to-digital conversion and comprehensive channel-to-channel galvanic isolation, the TSXAEY414 delivers accurate signal acquisition in demanding electrical environments.
Signal Acquisition and Universal Multirange Capability
The module supports four independently configurable channels capable of interfacing with standard process signals, temperature sensors, and millivolt inputs. It accepts voltage ranges up to ±10 V, 4–20 mA current loops, resistance measurements up to 3850 Ohm, and RTDs including Pt100, Pt1000, and Ni1000 in 2-wire or 4-wire configurations. In addition, it connects directly to thermocouples (types B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, and U) with options for internal or external cold junction compensation.
Electrical Protection and Channel Isolation
To ensure measurement integrity and system safety, the module incorporates robust electrical isolation. It provides 1780 Vrms isolation between channels and the backplane bus, as well as 2830 Vrms isolation between individual channels. Onboard overvoltage protection shields inputs up to ±30 V in active operation, preventing module damage from field wiring faults or line surges.
System Installation and Compatibility
The module installs directly into any standard slot of a Modicon Premium rack and communicates via the backplane, drawing 660 mA at 5 VDC. External field wiring connects through a removable screw terminal block to facilitate quick replacement during maintenance. For legacy platform modernization, Schneider Electric designates the Modicon X80 series module BMXART0414 as its functional replacement.
