Proximity Probe and Extension Cable

The 3300 XL probe and extension cable also reflect improvements to the previous design. The patented TipLoc* molding method provides a stronger bond between the probe tip and the probe body. The cable of the probe adopts the patented CableLoc* design, which can provide 330 N (75 LBF) of pulling force to connect the probe cable and the probe tip more firmly.

You can also order the 3300 XL 8 mm probe and extension cable and the optional FluidLoc* cable option. This option prevents oil and other liquids from leaking out of the machine through the inside of the cable.

More Information

The output voltage provided by the system is proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The main applications of this system are vibration and position measurement on liquid film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor* reference and speed measurement3.

Each 3300 XL 8mm transducer system component can be backward compatible and interchangeable with other non-XL 3300 series 5mm and 8mm transducer system components5. This compatibility includes 3300 5mm probes, suitable for applications where the 8mm probe is too large to provide usable installation space.

The 3300 XL 8mm system provides the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity sensor system. The standard 3300 XL 8mm 5m system also fully complies with the mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability of the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 standard (4th edition). All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity sensor systems have this level of performance and support full interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximity sensors without the need to match or calibrate individual components.
