Description
The GE Fanuc IC200MDL650C is a high-density 32-point 24 VDC discrete input module designed for the VersaMax I/O platform. It captures logic signals from field devices such as pushbuttons, limit switches, and proximity sensors, processing up to 32 discrete bits directly into the PLC CPU or Network Interface Unit (NIU).
Field Wiring and Logic Selectivity
The 32 input channels are organized into four groups of eight points. Hardware revision IC200MDL650C introduces native support for both positive logic (sinking) and negative logic (sourcing) field wiring configurations. In positive logic mode, input current is supplied by field devices and returned via common terminals, whereas in negative logic mode, current flows from the common to the field device.
Isolation and Signal Filtering
Each input group is optically isolated from the backplane logic, providing 1500 VAC channel-to-backplane protection for one minute to prevent noise propagation and ground loops. The module features software-configurable input filter times (0 ms, 1.0 ms default, or 7.0 ms), resulting in total response times of 0.5 ms, 1.5 ms, or 7.5 ms to eliminate contact bounce and false signal triggers.
