OVERVIEW

These standard 200 series baseplates support distributed control of both small and large systems, specifically the following Foxboro Evo™ system modules:

1. Field control processor 270 (FCP270) fault-tolerant or non-fault-tolerant

2. Field communication module (FCM100Et and FCM100E) and other FCM

3. Fieldbus expansion module (FEM100E)

4. Fieldbus isolator/filter module (FBI100)

5. Standard field bus module (FBM) and 100 series FBM connection.

The 200 series substrates that support standard FBM realize the installation function of the entire system by providing 2, 4, and 8 FBM position unit increments and a combination of vertical and horizontal installation.

Key features of the 200 Series baseplates are:

1. For the backplane supporting FBM:

2, 4, 8 module positions and vertical and horizontal installation

Field connection of I/O terminal components, redundant adapter and module identifier for each module

DIP switch used to identify certain modular backplanes

Add other 200 series baseboards without stopping system operation (requires redundant bus)

2 Mbps modular Fieldbus connected to standard Fieldbus modules, or 268 Kbps Fieldbus for 100 series FBM

3. Distributor/terminator for time gating and A/B Fieldbus

4. Connect the optional GPS time strobe pulse for FCP270 and the backplane supporting FCM100Et

5. Primary and secondary 24 V DC power supply and communication connection

Backward compatibility with existing I/O subsystems allows future expansion without the need for the additional interface hardware

6. Only applicable to the keying position of CP or FCM/FBM, depending on the bottom plate type

7. Passive backplane to improve system reliability.
