Description
The GE Fanuc Automation IC200ETM001 module is an expansion connector that expands a VersaMax PLC to accommodate up to 7 additional racks. Each additional rack can hold up to 8 input/output modules, inclusive of field bus communication modules. It comes with a 26-pin female connector at the front of the module. The connector is used to connect the module to an expansion receiver module. Be sure to locate a 16-pin male serial port connector at the upper left corner of the module. This is a serial programming port that is used for uploading firmware updates to the adjacent NIU.
The expansion module is initially set to operate with a data rate of 250 bits/second for the maximum length of the expansion cable. Should the total length measure under 250 meters and there are no ERM002 modules in the system, the VersaMax PLC makes it possible for the rate to be adjusted to 1 Mbit/second. In an NIU I/O Station, the data rate remains constant and cannot be adjusted from its default rate of 250Kbits.
