GE Fanuc IC695CPU320 processor Module

The IC695CPU320 is a Central Processing Unit from the GE Fanuc PACSystems RX3i Series. The IC695CPU320 has an Intel Celeron-M microprocessor rated for 1 GHz, with 64 MB of the user (random access) memory and 64 MB of flash (storage) memory. RX3i CPUs are programmed and configured to control machines, processes, and material handling systems in real-time.

The IC695CPU320 has a pair of independent serial ports built into its chassis. Each of the two serial ports occupies a slot on the system base. The CPU supports SNP, Serial I/O, and Modbus Slave serial protocols. In addition, IC695CPU320 has a dual backplane design with bus support for RX3i PCI and a 90-30-style serial bus. Like other CPUs in the Rx3i product family, IC695CPU320 provides automatic error checking and correction.

Differences between IC695CPE330 and IC695CPU320

•The IC695CPE330has different power supply requirements. Please check the datasheets or see the

requirements using Proficy Machine Edition 8.6 or greater.

•The IC695CPU320and CPU315 each have 2 serial ports. They can be used for programming or other serial communications. To do programming over Ethernet for the IC695CPU320you must add an Ethernet module (IC695ETM001). The CPE330 can be programmed over the built-in Ethernet ports and if you need serial connections, a serial module (IC695CMM002) can be added.

•CPE330 has metal housing which includes screws for secure connection to the backplane.

Q. What should I do with existing or IC695CPU320installed?

A. You are not required to do anything. GE-IP will support any warranty issues. If you wish to take advantage of the new features of the IC695CPE330see the local distributor or salesperson on getting an evaluation unit.

Q. When will the IC695CPE330be available?

A. The IC695CPE330 is open for orders (see the part numbers in the table below). Production is starting now and the first shipments begin in April.

Q. GEIP Life Cycle Policy says that you mature for a minimum of 2 years before it goes obsolete. Will that be the case for the IC695CPU320?

A. The GEIP policy states that we have the ability to obsolete if we have a direct replacement. The CPU330 is a direct replacement with offering you more capability to reduce footprint and cost now and going forward. We will not obsolete right away but we hope to have most people converted over quickly.
