GE Fanuc IC694ALG442 is an analog combined current/voltage input/output module for Rx3i PacSystems. The module provides four different input channels and two single-ended output channels. You can use the Machine Edition software to configure each channel in any of the following ranges: (0 to +10) unipolar, (-10 to +10 volts) bipolar, 0 to 20 mA, or 4 to 20 mA. The unipolar range of 0 to +10 is the default setting of the system, unless it is changed, it will be automatically set during installation. In the higher mode, the input channel can be configured for the 4 to 20 mA range. IC694ALG442 can be used in any I/O slot in the Rx3i system.

As an additional feature, IC694ALG442 can directly respond to specific COMMREQ commands in the application for certain tasks, such as deleting error codes, modifying input alarm limits, and placing one or two outputs in ramp mode.

This IC694ALG442 module must be connected from an external power source to a 24 VDC power source for proper use. It can configure various outputs, if the system power is interrupted or can be reset to the low end of a given series, it can maintain the final state. The output can also be configured to run in ramp mode according to the commands of the applicable program. In addition, low and high alarm ranges can be set for all input channels, and disconnection faults can be relayed to the CPU for each output channel.

If used with the RX3i universal backplane, you can connect an external signal source through the TB1 connector on the left side of the backplane. Another option is available through the direct connection on the modular junction box. If a backplane is used, the external power supply must be connected to the terminal block. The resolution per bit depends on the configured input or output range. If the current source input is reversed or is lower than the low end of the current range, the module input is equal to the data word at the low end of the range. The resolution of the converted signal is 12 binary bits from the A/D converter in %AI. Each channel can convert between 15 and 16 bits.
