GE Fanuc 90-70 IC697BEM731 Genius bus controller is a single-channel controller for Genius I/O LAN. IC660BEM731 supports up to 30 branches on Genius LAN. Through the IC697 PLC alarm processor function, the operation can be enhanced on GE Fanuc 90-70 IC697BEM731.
IC697BEM731 is specially designed for Genius I/O handheld display IC660/IC661. It is a bus controller module (BCM) produced by GE Fanuc for the 90-70 series. The IC697BEM731 module can be used as a single-channel controller. Therefore, it only occupies a PLC slot for a handheld display (IC66*). The BCM scans the IC66* input/output block asynchronously; therefore, each scan will transmit I/O data to the CPU once through the backplane of the IC697 PLC rack. IC697BEM731 can only be configured through MS DOS or Windows programming software configuration function. IC697BEM731 BCM is also responsible for supporting directional communication originating from PLC CPU communication service requests. In addition, it can be configured to perform global communication.
Other functions of IC697BEM731 include 30 sub-stations per channel, IC66* or IC661 I/O diagnostics, support for redundant blocks, cables and CPU, LAN communication, CPU soft configuration and alarm processor functions. Before installation, please refer to the applicable PLC installation manual. Before you start, please turn off the power. Follow the instructions to install the rack, and then turn on the power. If the operation is correct, the module will be energized through the corresponding blinking LED. When receiving the configuration from the CPU and verifying the bus operation, the middle LED will light up. The LED at the bottom is always off.
