The IC697CMM711 communication coprocessor module provides communication control (CCM), remote terminal unit (RTU) and conventional IC69 * communication (SNP) functions. C697, RTU and SNP can be used on one or both of the following nine possible configurations: CCM/CCM, CCM/RTU, RTU/CCM, RTU/RTU, SNP/SNP, SNP/CCM, CCM/SNP, SNP / RTU and RTU / SNP. IC697CMM711 provides RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces, and communicates with the PLC CPU through the backplane.

IC697CMM711 is a single slot communication coprocessor module (CMM) of the GE 90-30 series. The module comes standard with a soft switch configuration (no switches and/or jumpers required), three status LEDs, button reset control and two serial ports. This module uses 12 Mhz, 80C186 microprocessor. In addition, no batteries are required.

IC697CMM711 CMM allows functions in CCM working mode including reading/writing registers, input and output tables, bit setting/clearing for input and output, reading scratchpad, Q sequence commands for fast reading, and diagnostic status words modify. In the master/peer-to-peer CCM configuration, the CMM requests to initiate communication with the remote device through the application ladder program communication request. CMM is part of the communication module series and demonstrates communication control (CCM), remote terminal (RTU) and conventional IC69 communication (SNP) functions. CCM, RTU, and SNP are available on any one or both of the following nine possible configurations: CCM/CCM, CCM/RTU, RTU/CCM, RTU/RTU, SNP/SNP, SNP/CCM, CCM/ SNP, SNP/RTU and RTU/SNP. The module provides both RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces, and communicates with the PLC CPU through the backplane. Only many CMMs can be placed in one IC697 PLC system.

You can view the status of the IC697CMM711 module through three LEDs. The activity of the serial port is identified in the port 1 LED and the port 2 LED. The top LED will always identify the module status. When the module is powered on, the top indicator light will flash, and after the diagnosis is effectively completed, the top indicator light will remain on.
