The digital I/O module option 67 is found in a variety of different ordering breakdowns. For example, the B30 bus differential system is a cost-effective option to provide bus differential protection for up to six feeder systems. The B30 is able to meter voltage, current, and frequency. The variable digital outputs that are possible with the B30 bus differential relay are the trip rated Form-A Form-C, or Solid State Relay mechanical latching digital outputs. The SSR and Form-A options can also have current detection or circuit continuity monitoring. The function of the mechanical latch output is to replace a lockout relay by forming a secure interlocking application of the relay. With consideration of the B30 product feature description as specified and with consultation of the ordering codes in the B30 model number breakdown, one is able to predict which digital I/O module options may be contained in the universal B30 relay. Thus every B30 relay will not have the exact same digital I/O card and according features. The B30 ordering chart contains up to 20 different possibilities for the digital I/O, and even has an order code (XX) for a lack of a digital I/O module. One would need to consider each ordering code breakdown for the 20 universal relays to determine which of the 20 contain the digital I/O 67 option.

UR SIGNAL TYPES

The contact inputs and outputs are digital signals associated with connections to hard-wired contacts. Both ëwetí and ëdryí contacts are supported.

The virtual inputs and outputs are digital signals associated with UR-series internal logic signals. Virtual inputs include signals generated by the local user interface. The virtual outputs are outputs of FlexLogicô equations used to customize the device. Virtual outputs can also serve as virtual inputs to FlexLogicô equations.

The analog inputs and outputs are signals that are associated with transducers, such as Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs).

The CT and VT inputs refer to analog current transformer and voltage transformer signals used to monitor AC power lines. The UR-series relays support 1 A and 5 A CTs.

The remote inputs and outputs provide a means of sharing digital point state information between remote UR-series devices. The remote outputs interface to the remote inputs of other UR-series devices. Remote outputs are FlexLogicô operands inserted into IEC 61850 GSSE messages and are of two assignment types: DNA standard functions and userdefined (UserSt) functions.

The direct inputs and outputs provide a means of sharing digital point states between a number of UR-series IEDs over a dedicated fiber (single or multimode), RS422, or G.703 interface. No switching equipment is required as the IEDs are connected directly in a ring or redundant (dual) ring configuration. This feature is optimized for speed and intended for pilotaided schemes, distributed logic applications, or the extension of the input/output capabilities of a single relay chassis.
