Honeywell's TPS (Total Plant Solution) system
Honeywell's TPS (Total Plant Solution) system began to research and development in 1995 and officially announced its launch in 1996.
Its main purpose is to gradually open the control system from the previous closed and realize the purpose of integrated management and control. TPS maintains the basic structure of the TDC3000 system, the control network still uses the LCN+UCN double-layer network structure, the HPM process controller is used, and the emergency shutdown system uses FSC. Start to use the PC open platform based on MS Windows NT operating system on the human interface and advanced application platform. It is to replace the original US operating station with GUS (Global User Station) operating station; to replace the original AM with APP (Application Processing Platform). This is the first time in the world that Microsoft's Windows operating system has been officially used in a DCS system. Since then, the Windows operating system has gradually become the main platform for centralized operation and management in a distributed control system. Then in 1998, a Uniformance Ph.D. (Plant HistoryDatabase) node was added, which marked the completion of the complete TPS system after 3 years of development.
