Product Description
The 45C201 is a Reliance Electric Remote I/O Processor. This processor may have been sold by Baldor Reliance or Asea Brown Boveri depending on what year it was produced. This module is no longer supported by the original manufacturers, but AX Control tries to keep this item in stock. The 45C201 was meant to be a part of an AutoMate 30/40 system. It is a programmable logic controller. This processor allows for communication to an I/O that is mounted remotely. It can be placed in an AutoMate Rack and then act as a master remote in the entire I/O sequence. This card is meant to gather data from a MultiBus. After it has the data it will transmit it to a remote subsystem and then receive response data. It will then provide that data to all of the devices attached to that module. So that the AutoMate isn’t bothered with an I/O remote update, all of the protocols and error checking communications are handled by the 45C201.
The 45C201 can also be attached to the AutoMate Rack and act as a slave if the rack does not already have a processor. The rack can then be used as an I/O substation remotely. Within this setup, the card can receive and send updates to the master from the input cards all while updating the output card.
