Description
A single Tricon system supports a maximum of four TCMs, which mustreside in two logical slots. Different TCM Models cannot be mixed in onelogical slot. Each Tricon systemsupports a total of 32 Modbus masters orslaves—this total includes network andserial ports. The hot-spare feature is notavailable for the TCM, though youcanreplace a faulty TCM while thecontroller is online.
Three MPs must be installed in the Main Chassis of every Tricon system. Each MP independently communicateswith its I/O subsystem and executes theuser-written control program.
The Tricon Communication Module (TCM), which is compatible with only Tricon v10.0 and later systems, allowsthe Tricon to communicate with TriStation 1131, other Tricon or Tridentcontrollers, Modbus master and slavedevices, and external hosts over Ethernet networks.
