Triconex Triple Modular Redundancy

Tricon's operation is based on the principles of safety and high plant availability, which can identify and compensate for faulty control system components, and allow online replacement, while continuing to perform its assigned tasks without interrupting the controlled process. Fault tolerance is achieved through TMR technology.

TMR uses three isolated parallel control systems and integrates extensive diagnostics into one system. The Tricon system uses two-thirds (2oo3) of voting to provide high integrity, error-free, uninterrupted process operations, and no single point of failure. Tricon simplifies the setup of the application because, from the user's point of view, the TMR system can operate as a single control system. An extensive diagnosis is inherent and transparent to the programmer.
