Integration with remote Ovation systems

Taking two units plus a common system as an example, two units are configured with independent redundant network equipment to form an independent LAN network. The utility system is also configured with independent redundant network equipment to form an independent utility system. The controllers of the common system exchange data through common network devices.

A pair of redundant core switches with multi-layer switching function and routing functions is configured on the unit network and the public system network, responsible for the data exchange of unit #1, unit #2, and the public parts, so as to form a multi-network structure. In the concrete implementation, the following two ways can be adopted:

The first is to connect the public network to switch directly to the core switch. The advantage of this kind of connection is that the public network and the unit network are in the same position, and the public network is easy to expand and form a common system with rich functions. Huaneng Yuhuan power plant's 4×1000MW network is adopted in this way, and its public system covers the functions of unit public and electrical public segments.

The second is to connect the switch of the public network to the root switch of a certain unit, as shown in Figure 2. The advantage of this connection is that the utility system is directly connected to the unit and it is more convenient to operate the utility system from the unit operating station.
